Aunty Annette Houston started weaving over 6 years ago with C-A-C’s Yirran Miigaydhu women’s weaving group. 

"I don’t live on my country, Gangulu. I’ve lived on Dharawal land all my life. I live where there’s plenty of traditional materials, including plants, to harvest, use and experiment with."

Aunty Annette believes deeply in the sustainability of her baskets “It’s important that they can be returned to the soil, not like plastic, which reflects a “circular” lifestyle.”

Baskets are woven using local grasses, raffia and wool.
